Himalayan Rock Salt

Himalayan rock salt is mined from the Salt Range in the Punjab region of Pakistan. This range was formed millions of years ago when tectonic plate movements formed a mountain range that trapped a shallow inland sea. This sea slowly dehydrated and buried deep in the earth, forming thick, mineral-rich sea salt deposits. This form of salt has been maturing over the past 250 million years under intense tectonic pressure, creating an environment of zero exposure to toxins and impurities.

As a natural salt, Himalayan rock salt is high in sodium, which is essential for your body to function properly. In addition to regulating blood volume and pressure, sodium helps your nerves transmit information, is used in muscle contractions and is required for numerous heart functions.

In addition, Himalayan salt contains the same 84 natural minerals and elements found in the human body. This includes phosphorous, calcium, potassium, iron, magnesium, zinc, selenium, copper, bromine, zirconium and iodine. These minerals exist in a colloidal form, meaning that they are tiny enough for our cells to easily absorb.

Himalayan rock salt can be used in cooking either in whole pieces or ground up for more delicate seasoning.
