Adrian and Rentia started making biltong from their home in 1993. They sold their biltong at local markets until in 1994 when demand outgrew capacity. That was when the current factory and warehouse opened in Kommetjie, Cape Town.
From local markets, they expanded to local shops and restaurants and also opened a retail outlet at the factory.
A continuous solution and improvement mindset for over 20 years has helped fine-tune recipes and processes. This pleased the local market and increased the customer base nationwide.
“The success of our business through the years,” says Adrian, “is definitely in how we build positive, personal relationships with every person we come into contact with. Many of our customers and suppliers have been with us since the beginning.”
From individuals visiting the retail store, wholesale customers nationwide, every valued staff member to all the carefully selected suppliers, Slivers strives to continue building long-lasting and inspiring relationships.
